Anjuman-e-Najmi Virar

About 70 to 80 years ago, when Virar was a small suburban town of Anglo-Indian Community, the Dawoodi Bohras adopted Virar as their home town by the Benediction and Dua mubarak of our beloved Maula Syedna Taher Saifuddin (A.Q.) and Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin (T.U.S.). This is indeed a fascinating story and need recording for the coming generation.

            At that time there was no Wali Mulla or Aamil Saheb in Virar. That’s why the residing Mumineen’s had to go to Vapi for Raza. After some time a Wali had been appointed in Virar and a Jamaat Committee was also formed. Around 1975 there were only 30-35 houses in Virar East and Agashi, 300-350 population and 6 shops of Dawoodi Bohras.

            Presently there are 240 houses, majority in Virar West. 950-1000 population and 40-45 shops of Mumineen’s in Virar.

            Huzurala (T.U.S.) has done a lot of Ahsanaat on the Mumineen of Virar. Mumineen who were doing service for a long time, have now set up their own business.

            The Jamaat Committee owns a hall and a Kabrastan in Virar (East). There is a Madrasa in both Virar East and West for dini Talim of Naunihal.

            Similarly, a plot has been purchased for Masjid Construction in Virar (West). Along with the construction of Masjid, Jamat Hall, Madrasa and Darul Imarat will also be constructed Insha Allah (T.A.)

            Marhoom Mukasir-e-Dawat Syedi Saleh bhai Saheb Safiuddin had visited Virar for the Tasis (Foundation) of Ali Chambers. In the year 1418 H Al Haddul-Anjab Val-Kaukabul Anwar-Kaizaar bhai saheb came to Virar as Saheb-E-Dawat, he stayed here for 6 days. After that in the year 1424 H again we were blessed with the advent of Syedi Moiz Bhaisaheb bin Shehzada Aali Waqar Abbas Bhaisaheb Fakhruddin Saheb who stayed here for 2 days. Recently in the month of Rabi ul Awwal 1430 H, Aali Waqar Shehzada Malik ul Ashtar Bhaisaheb Shujauddin (D.M) visited Virar and stayed here for 6 Days, presiding in Ziyafats and Urs Majlis of Syedna Abdullah Badruddin Saheb (A.Q).

            In the year 1991 an Aamil Saheb was appointed in Virar. The first Aamil Saheb to come here was Shaikh Moiz bhai Fida Ali, later on Shk Khuzaima bhai Bhanpurawala came, third Aamil Saheb was Shk Zohair bhai Shk Fazlehusein Indorewala, and after him Shk Aliasger bhai Barwaniwala came. The Fifth Aamil Saheb of Virar was Janab Khuzema Bhaisaheb Jafer Bhaisaheb Moiny.

            Presently Shk Noman bhai Shk Mansoor bhai Kothari is the Aamil Saheb of Virar. Aamil Saheb is doing a lot of work for the welfare and well being of Mumineen in Virar, and they have prospered a lot under his leadership.
